The India Cements Ltd was established in 1946 and the first plant was set up at Sankarnagar in Tamilnadu in 1949 . Since then the number of plants have gone up to eight in number spread over Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh . The capacities have more than trebled to 10 million tons today. The Company has well spread out plants- three in Tamilnadu and five in Andhra Pradesh which cater to all major markets in South India and Maharashtra.
